I’m active in the community because being plugged-in to the ideas and challenges of others offers huge educational benefits. It’s basically a free, on-demand networking event! We really are a community, and by participating in discussions I can impact the success of marketing at my own company and others.

I participate in the Marketo community for the same reasons I choose to lead a regional user group. The Marketo community allows me to bring together two of my passions: a belief in “Marketing should be measured (and contribute to the top line)” and a personal pay-it-forward philosophy.  In the case of the Marketo community, I see both of those values reflected in the membership and together that can only lead to better days for me personally and the community as a whole. So, when I need help on a problem, I hope there is a vibrant community that will be there to guide me forward.  Hope can’t be counted on as a strategy and vibrant communities don’t just happen; communities grow and shrink by the participation of its people, so to receive you have to give.  That’s why I participate.

I’m active in the community because I’m the Marketing Technology Manager here at Solution Tree.  We just started using Marketo this year, and do not use SFDC yet, so I’m still figuring out how best to use the toolbox, and it’s all still very new to me.  Trying to make the technical details conform to the ideal wishes of Marketing is my task.  Our model is a mixed B2B/C that focuses on the education market.  My background is programming, web development, and database development and administration.

The Marketo Community is the first place I go to look for new ideas, best practices and techniques. The community members and Marketo staff are knowledgeable and helpful and will usually resolve any questions I might have. Learning and comparing notes with my peers has been an extremely pleasant, educational and worthwhile. It is one of the best run communities I have been a part of.

Right after our completion of Marketo’s Quick Start program I went straight to the Marketo Community and have been frequenting ever since. It’s a great place to ask questions and glean ideas from scores of fellow Marketo users who are in various stages of implementation and all have unique insights. I can’t tell you how many times a Community member has talked me through a process that made it infinitely easier to get where I wanted to go… or where I needed to go and didn’t realize it. The Community is a tremendous resource that keeps growing!
